Question 1

What if my smart home stops working when I need it?

Accepted Answer

It runs on hardware in your home. No internet needed for anything that matters — lights, fans, geysers and automations all keep working without a connection.

Question 2

Will I end up with three apps for one fan?

Accepted Answer

One system. Your Tuya switch, your LG TV, your Atomberg fan and your Zigbee sensor — all in one place. One app, one dashboard.

Question 3

I don't understand home automation. Can I still use this?

Accepted Answer

You don't need to. We design it, install it and show you how it works — in your own home. The switches still work as switches if you prefer.

Question 4

What if GrihaTEK goes out of business?

Accepted Answer

The system is local and standard-based, built on Home Assistant. It keeps working regardless of us. And we're in Kolkata, not a call centre.

Question 5

My elderly parents will hate the new technology. What then?

Accepted Answer

Every switch still works as a switch. Nothing is app-only. Your father can use the wall switch exactly as before, and automations happen invisibly around him.

Question 6

Will installation damage my walls?

Accepted Answer

Mostly retrofit. We check for the neutral wire before quoting and tell you if your board needs work. In most cases no new wiring is needed.

Question 7

What happens when the power goes out?

Accepted Answer

Every switch remembers its state. The mains line restores itself in ten seconds. Automations resume automatically when power returns.

Question 8

What happens when the internet goes down?

Accepted Answer

Everything local keeps running — lights, fans, sensors, automations. Only remote access and cloud voice assistants pause until the connection is restored.

Question 9

What happens when a device drops off the network?

Accepted Answer

The system self-heals. Zigbee mesh automatically reroutes around missing devices, and we monitor and fix issues before you notice them.

Question 10

What if Wi-Fi doesn't reach a corner of my home?

Accepted Answer

We use Zigbee and Thread mesh protocols. Each device extends the network, so coverage reaches every corner without needing a Wi-Fi extender.

Question 11

What if someone hacks into my smart home?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is exposed to the internet by default. Camera footage never leaves the building. DNS filtering runs on-site. The attack surface is minimal by design.

Question 12

What happens to my system if you go out of business?

Accepted Answer

It's local and standard-based, built on Home Assistant open-source software. It doesn't depend on us existing. Any Home Assistant integrator can maintain it.
